Back to School!

Unfortunately, the Summer holidays are slowly coming to an and end next week everybody goes back to school, and college. For me, I go back to my 2nd year of sixth form on Wednesday, so I thought I'd do a blog post on going back to school, and the essentials you need!
The Bag
Firstly, of course, everybody needs a bag. Being at sixth form for a year, I found a back pack was the best way to lug my books and folders around, but after a while everyone seemed to just have the same designs and I thought this year was going to be the same. That is, until I spotted this bag in Asda for £12. It is quite spacious, and I can fit all my folders and books in there (including an A4 ringbinder). The material is almost a leathery feel, and includes patches of fluffiness! I just thought this bag was too cute to leave behind!

The Pencil Essentials
Again, my pencil case is from Asda, and was about £5. It has 2 pockets, and is very spacious. I thought this was fantastic, because my oil pastels ALWAYS make my pencil case all oily and disgusting, so now I can hide my oil pastels away from all my beautiful new pens and pencils! I also bought the usuals, pencils, pens, glue, rubbers, and of course my art supplies, as I am an A level art student. I love the brightness on my graphite pencils, as I will know they are mine. They were from Rymans and came in a pack of 4 or 5.

The Outfits
This doesn't really count as much to English students in years 1-11, but as I am in sixth form, I have no uniform, so outfits are definitely a big part of the school year. As the dress code is 'smart wear', I made sure I have a lot of different things, which are also quirky! Firstly, I got the 'Martina Geek shoes' from Topshop, which were £30. I think these are so beautiful and so so cute, and although a lot of people have them, they are still so unique and quirky. I will definitely write a review on them soon! I also got a bowler hat from New Look for £14.99, and it is so beautiful! Honestly, I hated bowler hats a few months ago, but actually trying one on, I fell in love! I definitely recommend them to every one! Especially girls with long hair!

So that's my take on essentials for school and sixth form! When do you start back and what are your important essentials?

Battle of the Foundations!

Looking through my makeup bag today I wondered which of the two foundations I use, I personally like the best. The two foundations in question are Rimmel's 'Wake Me Up Foundation' and Rimmel's 'Match Perfection. Both are in the colour '100 ivory', both are in a glass bottle and both are 1fl oz 30ml.

Starting with the 'Wake Me Up', the packaging is very unique, as the bottle is more of a square shape. Anyway, onto the actual substance. The bottle says the foundation has SPF 15, which isn't much but is great to give your face a little protection. Due to the foundation giving an 'anti-fatigue and radiant glow' effect, the foundation includes little spots of glitter. Personally, I don't like that, as when I move in some lights, my face shimmers, which defeats the object of being an 'anti glow' foundation.
The consistency of the foundation is quite lumpy and patchy, but once you rub it in, it's absolutely fine, and stays on nearly all day. The foundation is definitely less patchy and a lot more smooth and natural looking when I use a brush to apply it, although at times when I haven't wanted a full coverage, I've just rubbed it in with my fingers. The substance is VERY pigmented, which I sometimes find as a disadvantage, as it makes my face look almost orange.

Moving onto 'Match Perfection', the bottle isn't as unique for sure, but it is more practical, and definitely looks more mature and elegant. The bottle explains that the foundation has an SPF 18, which again, isn't much, but still better than the 'Wake Me Up'. The bottle also explains that the foundation has 'light perfecting radiance'. Personally, I like this foundation a lot better anyway, as it doesn't include the sparkles like the 'Wake Me Up'.

The consistency of the foundation is more of a liquid, and does seem to spread a lot easier. Although, due to being more of a liquid substance, the foundation does come out a lot quicker, meaning you don't need to press the pump as much, and, to be honest, you don't need to use as much either. The substance is also very pigmented, I would definitely say it is less pigmented than the 'Wake Me Up'. The foundation also seems less patchy when you apply it. However, I do only use this foundation when I want a light coverage, as it doesn't seem to be 'heavy'.

Overall, I personally like 'Match Perfection' the most, but 'Wake Me Up' does have some very good qualities. I also think the 'Match Perfection' does match up with skin tones better. It really depends on what you would like to wear the foundation for, but I hope this review has helped in some ways!
